Women’s pelvic health issues affects millions of women and can occur at any stage of life. Research suggests that up to 1 in 3 women experience pelvic floor symptoms, including bladder leakage, urinary urgency, stress incontinence, or reduced pelvic floor strength.
Our Women’s Health Appointments provide specialist assessment and treatment for a range of pelvic floor concerns, including urinary incontinence, overactive bladder symptoms and pelvic floor weakness. We offer personalised treatment with the aim to improve symptoms, restore confidence, and support your long-term pelvic health.
WILL I BENEFIT FROM WOMEN’S HEALTH PHYSIOTHERAPY?
Key Benefits May Include:
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR ASSESSMENT
Your initial appointment will last approximately 60 minutes and will begin with a detailed discussion about your symptoms, medical history, toilet habits, fluid intake, lifestyle, and personal goals. This helps us understand how your symptoms are affecting your daily life and identify any contributing factors.
We will then carry out a physical assessment, which may include evaluating your posture, breathing pattern, abdominal muscles, movement, and pelvic floor function. If appropriate and with your informed consent, a pelvic floor examination may be offered to assess muscle strength, coordination, and function. Internal examinations are always optional and will be fully explained beforehand.
Following your assessment, we will discuss our findings and provide a personalised treatment plan tailored to your needs. This may include education, pelvic floor muscle training, bladder retraining strategies, lifestyle advice, and a home exercise programme designed to help you achieve your goals.
Our aim is to provide a comfortable, supportive, and confidential environment where you feel informed, empowered, and confident in managing your pelvic health.
